Bronze Awards
Recently I entered the Portrait Masters 2020 competition. The reason I enter is to challenge myself to create better and better images for you, my client. I am also working on becoming accredited, then my goal is to eventually become a Master Photographer. Here are my images that placed.

Before and After
I recently had this beauty in for a portrait session, and just couldn’t wait to share a before and after of her.
The Importance of a Print
I am a print photographer. I know that nowadays that seems to be an unpopular format for your images, but let me explain why I feel so strongly about having them in print. I was going through my moms photographs the other day and came across an image of my grandfather as a young boy and his family. Now you might be thinking, OK, what is so special about that? Well, what makes it special is that the image itself is about 111 years old. How amazing is it to have that physical record of my family. I can tell my children and grandchildren about their ancestors and actually show them a photograph. Now imagine for a moment that it was a digital image. Would the current technology today allow you to open that old digital file? I don’t believe it would. So the next time you decide to get portraits made, instead of just getting a digital file, order prints. Your family will thank you for it.

Why should I have my portrait made?
This is such a valid question for most of us, if not all. It makes us feel somehow that it would be rather selfish or self centered to do this for ourselves. Like we don’t deserve to spend that time and effort on ourselves. But let me say this, you ARE deserving of this experience. To have a day, just for yourself, to feel beautiful, to let down your guard, to see yourself as the rest of the world sees you. We are so self critical that all we do is down ourselves day in and day out. We don’t love that person in the mirror, all we can see is that extra 10 pounds, or those new gray hairs and wrinkles. That should NOT be a reason to not have your portrait made. It is ok to have that beautiful print on your walls, for your children and grandchildren to admire. Go ahead, be brave and do it, I guarantee you won’t be sorry that you did.
